Death Note 13: How to read is A official rap-up of the 12 voulume Death Note Series. while not a addition to the story line, It is a treat any savvy D.N fan would enjoy.
The first treat that awaits you upon cracking the book, is a Playing-card size Painting of Major character L, Which release his long awaited Surname. The first Bulk Of the encyclopedia Is a nice and well organized Pile Of almost any information You could Desire. Much of which are nice Insights into The characters Lives. each biography (over 20 in-all) is packed with Info That Was cut from the main series for whatever reason. The Birthdays, deathdays,Likes and dislikes, etc Of Most Of the Major characters are released. Each characters Before and during Story History is Logged with motivations, Quotes, and Artist comments about their role in the series.
The Next section Is List after list of events log and information. list of L's snacks, Nears Toystore List, a full database of tricks and Stunts pulled During the Kira case. I wont spoil every List and database, But i say with confidence that you wont be disapointed with the sheer mass of info that awaits The Hungry fans.
after The tsunami of facts and statistic, Your treated to Bonus comic, creator comments and interviews, (which provides Great Insight into the Creative Process behind D.N.) Including a full list Of the meaning behind The titles of all 108 tanobakin Chapters.
The Interview Between The two authors, tsugumi Ohba and takeshi Obata, was enjoyable and Insightful, Giving Much detail about the pairs Intention behind the series.
Last. But Most defiantly not least, is the One-shot Pilot for death note, which greatly differs from The finished piece. The Pilot reads like a pop-horror Novel. Less serious and more mystical, evidenced the death eraser, A plot device for Bringing characters back to life (cut from the Series For Making death Less of a threat as stated by Ohba)all in all, The Pilot presents a more hopeful, Bright world, In contrast to the darker, less Hopeful world of The finale d.n.series.
All In all, This Is simply a collection and recap of death note. There is much to be enjoyed here, The Only true flaws is alot of Reprinted art and No New Story line. But these are rather minor and shouldn't lessen your enjoyment.
Highly reccomened for Info Hungry Fans, and anyone who wants to cap off their collection.
