A wonderful beginning... Feb 26, 2008

To my mind, nothing proves that an artist has real talent more than if their work is still beautiful to look at without any color… CLAMP has some of the best artists there are in my opinion… Add an engaging story full of characters that you quickly come to care for, and you have a winner… That’s exactly what Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle is!
From the opening panel, the CLAMP team draws you into a fascinating tale that spans dimensions… A story filled with love, loss, courage, honor, adventure and just the right amount of fun!
Volume One contains the first five chapters in this epic tale, in which Princess Sakura is stripped of her memories and the adventure begins. ( I don’t want to give anything away, so if you want to know the story you’ll just have to read it. )
I love the way Delrey presents their manga, and the information on this series in particular… They take the time to explain Japanese Honorifics, tell you a little about the creators and some of their past works, as well as offer character profiles and translation notes… You also get a short Japanese preview of Volume Two.
Bottom Line: If you enjoy action mixed with romance and some comedy, then this series should be right up your alley… Beautifully illustrated, with a great plot, Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle Volume One is a fantastic addition to any manga collection!
